Phenol and Acetone are usually produced from Cumene. Phenol can also be made from benzoic acid or chlorobenzene. Phenol’s main use is to make phenolic resins, for fibreglass and brakes as well as a wide range of specialities, Caprolactam and Bisphenol A (BPA) an intermediate for the manufacture of epoxy resins and for polycarbonate resins.
