To download conference leaflet please click here The global acetic acid market has evolved quickly over the past few years from an industry dominated by global majors located in the US Gulf and Europe to an industry in which China has taken over as the largest producer. But, China is experiencing some growing pains as capacity to produce acetic acid and its derivatives will expand further in the next 2-3 years. The most rapid growth has occurred in acetic acid, while some of the derivative markets have lagged behind in capacity expansions. The global financial crisis also slowed the growth in consumer and export markets, leaving China facing a keen over-supply situation in the acetyls sector. How will China cope with its supply/demand imbalance in the next 2-3 years? How will the addition of world-scale, low-cost plants affect the viability of domestic Chinese producers? Will China’s economic expansion push innovation in the acetic acid derivatives markets? The Second International Acetic Acid-VAM Conference in China, hosted by Tecnon OrbiChem and LT361.com, will present the opportunity for key participants to meet and discuss many issues of importance to the global acetyls markets.
